I got my start in 2016 managing the blog content for a boutique SEO agency in Memphis, TN. In this role I researched and wrote about SEO trends and tips, was responsible for ghost writing guest columns on Inc. and Forbes, and occasionally wrote copy for client websites. Having a foundational understanding of writing for SEO was the perfect starting point, because it helped me learn the ins and outs of content writing: what's clickable and what's not, what SEO rich content looks like, the importance of being compelling in short form copy, and so on. But after a couple of years, I wanted to sink my teeth into something I was more passionate about. Enter: Memphis Brand Initiative. 

During my time with the Memphis Brand Initiative, I was able to broaden my skill set from mostly blog writing to brand narratives, email campaign writing, social media management, speech writing, and so much more. It was in this role that I learned from a trailblazing movement-maker how to convert an idea into a mission, into a manifesto, into a call to action for others.
